Microsoft announced the integration of the programming language with Excel without the need for additional configuration

Microsoft is bringing Python, one of the most popular programming languages, to Excel. The new feature will allow you to combine language scripts (codes) with spreadsheet software formulas.

Python in Excel combines Python’s powerful data analysis and visualization libraries with the Excel features you know and love. You can manipulate and explore data in Excel using charts and Python libraries, and then use Excel formulas, charts, and pivot tables to further refine your insights.

To integrate the programming language with Microsoft software, no additional configuration or installation is required. The company explains that the integrated Excel and Power Query connectors will be able to transmit data from Python to Excel.

Additionally, Microsoft has partnered with Anaconda, the leading Python repository, to provide popular Python libraries, such as pandas for data manipulation, statsmodels for advanced statistical modeling, and Matplotlib and seaborn for data visualization.

Launch

As Microsoft explains, Python integration in Excel is being rolled out in the Microsoft 365 Insiders Beta program. To test, the user will need to participate in the program and choose the Beta Channel Insider level to have access to the new features.
Later, programming language integration with the software will be included in the Microsoft 365 subscription.
